On Sunday, I’ll be doing my last fundraising exercise for the year, doing the Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle for Cancer. I only need another $100 to join the Honour Roll and get a jersey. To encourage donations, I’ll send the jersey to the first person to donate $100 and send a request to me at john.quiggin@uq.edu.au

In other sporting news, I completed the Sunshine coast 70.3 (70.3 miles, made up of 1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 21.1km run in a time of 7:33. I had some injuries that disrupted training, but that seems to be the case pretty often these days. So, I’m considering dropping back to Olympic and shorter distances, and putting some time into other sporting and cultural activities.
I had another busy month in media as you can see from the linked report (password quiggin), and newspaper articles.
I’ve also been doing a bunch of workshops and meetings, mostly limited attendance. One public event is the John Dillon Memorial lecture, which I’ll be giving at UNE Armidale on Tuesday, on the topic Will Irresistible Force Overcome Immovable Object: solar photovoltaics and the energy transition. If you’re in eara, please come along.
