The Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle for Cancer is over for another year. Thanks to my wonderful friends and supporters, I surpassed my fundraising goal of $1000.
The 100km ride was more challenging than usual, with some mechanical failures (rescued by the on-site mechanic), and some unexpected rain. I have to be very careful of injury these days, so that slowed me down a lot. Fortunately, my knee injury, which has stopped me running for the moment, didn’t cause me any problems on the bike.
On the positive side, the ride through the busway was great as usual, and the organization at the Gold Coast end was excellent. Having raised enough to be on the Honour Roll, I got a free 10-minute massage at the end (thanks to Griffith Uni physio students for providing this service).
